Caryl McAdoo

About Caryl McAdoo:

Award-winning Christian author Caryl McAdoo is all about loving the Lord! She prays her story gives God glory which is what she lives to do, and her best-selling novels enjoy a lion’s share of 5-Star ratings from readers around the world.

A dear, but gruff Navy-sergeant-mentor once told her, "Caryl, pick a genre," but she never could and enjoys writing many genres with her husband Ron---yes, though only her name is on the covers, that's how Simon & Schuster wanted it when they published VOW UNBROKEN book number ten, and it works well for the McAdoos.

As a reader, she always loved reading family sagas, so it came naturally to write sagas with her first highly acclaimed historical series "Texas Romance Family Saga." Its ten titles cover five generations of three families (Buckmeyers, Baylors, and Nightingales) and over a century, 1832-1951: VOW UNBROKEN, HEARTS STOLEN, HOPE REBORN, SINS OF THE MOTHERS, DAUGHTERS OF THE HEART, JUST KIN, AT LIBERTY TO LOVE, COVERING LOVE, MIGHTY TO SAVE, AND CHIEF OF SINNERS.

Since she just couldn't bring herself to leave behind those characters she'd come to love, she created the "Texas Companion Books" series for ancestors and descendants of those families, now six titles strong: THE BEDWARMER'S SON, SON OF PROMISE, BIPARTISAN LOVE, JOHN DAVID'S CALLING, HANNAH CLAIRE'S WILDERNESS, and JEWEL'S GOLD.

And she's started a new series with the "Cross Timbers Romance Family Saga" with four families (O'Neals, Van Zandts, Worleys, and Harrells). It begins in 1840 and with two new titles each year has grown to four novels: GONE TO TEXAS, TEXAS MY TEXAS, TEXAS TEARS, and LEAVING TEXAS that take the story through 1850.

Caryl also writes contemporary romances, Biblical fiction---which she loves and always remains true to "His Story"---plus for Mid-grade and Young Adult readers. With fifty-plus titles now, it’s obvious she loves writing almost as much as singing the new songs the Lord gives her—you may listen to a few at YouTube.

She and high school sweetheart Ron, married fifty-plus years, share four children and nineteen grandsugars. The McAdoos live in the woods south of Clarksville, the seat of Red River County in far Northeast Texas, waiting expectantly for God to open the next door.
