The Silent Partner

A while back, Captain Cavedweller (also known as my hubby) gifted me with a series of little magazines he happened across at the local antique store / fruit stand.

He gave me a whole year's worth of the magazine!

I haven't been able to find out much about the history of the magazine, other than F.D. Van Amburgh was the editor and manager, it was published by The Silent Partner Co, Inc., and sold for 15 cents each, or a $1.50 for a year's subscription.

The front cover touts it as a "magazine of hopeful, helpful, human service." It's also referred to as a magazine for executives.

The copies I have cover the year 1921.

It has fun little nuggets of wisdom like these above sprinkled throughout it's pages. The cure for love made me smile!

The magazines include stories, articles, advertisements. Everything a gentleman would need to guide himself into an even more respectable, responsible individual.

At any rate, I'm sure I'll find some fun ideas to incorporate into stories among these surprisingly great condition pages.

If you know any history about The Silent Partner, I'd love to learn more!

Happy June, my friends!
